Dunkin's Story

Jackson is a West Virginia bred Thoroughbred who was donated to FETRP on March 19, 2025 by his wonderful connections who wanted to make sure he had a great chance at a second career. Jackson retired from racing after 35 starts and a lifetime earnings of $80k with a mystery front right lameness that was cleared with x-rays. It was clear to FETRP that this was a hoof correction issue. Once Jackson arrived at FETRP, we had our farrier come out and he found an old abscess that turned into a severe hoof wall infection.

Jackson will have a pretty smooth rehabilitation journey with daily hoof treatments throughout the month of April. We expect him to make a full recovery with no limitations and be ready for adoption May 1st!

FETRP relies on the kindness of our supporters to help us rehabilitate these amazing athletes, consider sponsoring Dunkin today!

Dunkins expenses include:

  • Board $750/month

  • Farrier $225/5 weeks

  • Vet TBD - expecting $2500

  • Supplements - $135/month
